CULTURAL EVENTS
Solo Singing
- Individual event
- Indian / Western music (solo)
- One Vocalist with a single accompanist ONLY allowed
- The instruments used should be brought by the participant
- Multiple entries allowed from the participating institution
- Time limit: 3 minutes
- Any pre-recorded background music/ sound is allowed
- Music should be submitted to the event coordinator on (August 31).
- There should be a back-up copy in case the submitted music file fails to play
Mime Guidelines
- Theme – New advancement in optometry
- 5 minutes per team including the entry and exit
- One team per college with minimum 5 and maximum 8 students
- The act should not contain any dialogue or lip sync
- Do not mention any college / hospital / clinic / optical names and should not offend any clinical practice or person
- Properties (chart / screen / plaque etc) and music are allowed
- Music should only contain instrumental and no lyrics
- Music should be submitted to the event coordinator on (August 31). There should be a back-up copy in case the submitted music file fails to play
- Mime content should not offend any clinical practice
- Obscenity will lead to disqualification
Group Singing Guidelines
- No. of participants: Minimum of 4 & Maximum of 6
- Duration of performance: 3 minutes
- The instruments used should be brought by the participants
- Any pre-recorded background music/ sound is allowed
- Music should be submitted to the event coordinator on (August 31)
- There should be a back-up copy in case the submitted music file fails to play
- Music should be wholesome and lively and must not contain any religious content, obscene, and vulgar lyrics/ language
- All contestants should be dressed appropriately during the performance
Solo Dance Guidelines
- Individual event
- Theme – Dance styles around the world
- Time limit – 5 minutes
- Music should be submitted to the event coordinator on Saturday (August 31). There should be a back-up copy in case the submitted music fails to play
- No live band or musicians allowed
- Music and choreography should be wholesome and lively and must not contain any religious content, obscene, and vulgar lyrics/ language
- Performance of dangerous choreography will not be encouraged
- Use of props will be allowed as long as it will not cause any delay in the program and not cause harm to the performance of others or damage the stage
Special Talent Guidelines
- Individual event
- Time limit: 4 minutes
- Multiple entries allowed from the participating institution
- Performance of dangerous activity will not be encouraged
- Use of props will be allowed as long as it will not cause any delay in the program and not cause harm to the performance of others or damage the stage
- Any form of obscenity in the performance will not be encouraged
Group Dance Guidelines
- No. of participants: Minimum 6 to maximum 8 dancers
- Duration: Minimum 5 minutes to maximum 7 minutes
- Music should be submitted to the event coordinator on (August 31). There should be a back-up copy in case the submitted music file fails to play
- No live band or musicians allowed
- Music and choreography should be wholesome and lively and must not contain any religious content, obscene, and vulgar lyrics/ language
- Performance of dangerous choreography will not be encouraged
- Use of props will be allowed as long as it will not cause any delay in the program and not cause harm to the performance of other groups or damage the stage
- Attire may include accessories such hats, caps, gloves, scarves, jewellery, etc. Changing clothing while performing is allowed provided that it is not vulgar or out of character
Instructions for Participants
- Share the participants name list in a word file through WhatsApp by mentioning your college name
- If there is no participants for a specific event kindly mention it as NIL, before sharing make sure that the list of events has been covered
- Sound tracks to be submitted to the event coordinators on August 31st between 1.45pm to 2.15pm
- In case of multiple entries from many colleges each college will be allowed to participate in only two events which will be selected by your college, cultural committee will decide the no. of events on 1st come 1st serve basis, and the order of performance for all the events.
